Handedness

We've walked by lots of churches on our Camino. Unlike our previous Camino in France, most of them are closed.  They seem to come in three basic varieties:

Right Handed

Left Handed

Ambidextrous

Only the really old churches, such as this 12th century Romanesque style church in Rates, seem to be ambidextrous.  Otherwise Im not sure how they decide, or if there is a particular religious significance to the handedness.
