The Gathering Storm

 As our departure for Portugal is now less than a week away, it is time to start gathering our supplies.  As we need to be able to carry everything with us along the trail everyday, it's important to travel light.  So we will weigh everything we take (except us, that would be too embarrassing).

I began by assembling the most important item we hope not to use - the first aid kit.  I dusted off my old "optimist" kit from REI, and added some extra items: eye glasses repair kit, emergency travel meds, and a mylar safety blanket. As we learned in France,  Compeed is too important to relegate to the first aid kit - it goes with the essential hiking gear instead.

Power and data management is next. We need lightening, USB-C and Micro-usb cables, along with power adaptors, boost batteries, international power adaptors, and the means to transfer photos from the camera to our phones.
