Technical Notes

We started quite a few blog posts we were unable to complete in a timely way.  We were tired, ran out of time, lost internet connectivity, or couldn't deal with the frustration of the absurd* blogger mobile interface. 

We'll try to get them posted, but they'll be out of sequence.
